specific objective of this critical assignment is to assure that students of business have sufficient skills to operate a global organization and convey effectively their own personal knowledge and skills to practice. This exercise will provide students with the opportunity to integrate and implement theory to practice at a global level and will prepare students to develop a comprehensive business plan in the capstone course during the final year of study.
This exercise involves starting a new business or offshoring of an existing business in a foreign country. This may be a new enterprise that is started from scratch or an existing business that needs to expand production to another country. The main emphasis will be on the global operations of the business. All of the following must be covered in detail. However, the student needs not limit the assignment to these alone.
The specific components of the proposed plan should include:
An environmental scan of the foreign country and along socio-political, economic, cultural, demographic, technological, and legal structure of the country.
Identifying the core competencies providing the organization’s global competitive advantage.
Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of global human resource management including, but not limited to, hiring staff, cultural aspects, and labor laws.
Develop an operational plan for logistics, raw materials, suppliers, buyers and the distribution channels of your product.
Discuss financial decisions related to strategic choice, cost of capital, global supply chains, shipment, insurance, wages, fringe benefits, and real estate availability.
Supporting decisions made and the strategy outlined using real-world, primary and secondary data from a reputable source.
The written paper is to be typed double–spaced, 1’ margins, Ariel and 11-point font, page length between 12—15, with correct spelling and grammar, proper citation (APA), references, a cover page, and organization with headings. The instructor’s approval of the topic is required.
